St Thomas parish church is very pleased that it has won a grant for 10 of the silhouette figures representing those who did not come back from the First World War.
They are going to display these in the church around the weeks before and after this year’s Remembrance Day as the 100th anniversary of the ending of WW1.
These figures have been developed under the direction of the organisation ‘There But Not There’ as part of the Armed Forces Covenant. They are also holding a tea party in the Parish Hall on 10th Nov at 3pm to which all are invited. The Church will be open for viewing the silhouette figures sitting in the pews.
The main Remembrance Day Service on 11th Nov begins outside in the churchyard at 10.45 where this anniversary will be marked with friends from St Thomas Methodist Church.
