We are excited that our peer mediators are now fully trained and have been available at play times to help the other children solve small conflicts. This is part of a national scheme and has been implemented successfully in a number of schools.
The peer mediators take it in turns to wear the blue tabards at play time and the other children know they can go to them if they have a disagreement that they need help with. The peer mediators have a very structured process that they go through which seeks to solve the disagreement. In their first week our peer mediators have been really successful and have done a fantastic job!
It is a real credit to the children who are keen to take on responsibility and have helped to shape how this new initiative will look in our school. I would also like to thank Mrs Winnall who has taken the time to develop this and work closely with the Year 6 children.
Well done to everyone involved.
